At Wigan Libraries we want to make your reading experience enjoyable, varied, and stimulating.
We have a wide range of popular and classic fiction, including the best in new novels, science fiction, romance, crime/thrillers and more.
If we don't have the book you want we can get it for you for a small charge.
If you want to share your reading adventures, why not join one of our successful "Bookchat" Reading groups: meet with other readers and discuss the books you have loved - and hated. Make new friends and get new inspiration.
We celebrate the high points of the reading year with displays and events around the Booker, Orange, WHS Smith Prizes, and events like World Book Day and National Poetry Day.
We are beginning to use our People's Network public access computers to give readers more information and choice of books.
We stock talking books : ideal for the car or while doing chores, as well as Large Print titles.
We try to buy the latest best sellers and publish free lists of new titles as often as possible.
People who want to improve their reading skills will find a range of popular and classic fiction in easy-to-read form at Leigh and Wigan Libraries, as well as a range of Graphic novels to suit all tastes and ages.
