Linked to Gallery Oldham, the new £21million centre is the next exciting development in the Cultural Quarter in Oldham.

Library services in the new building open on Monday 3 April. The Library will be open 7 days a week and will include specialist Children's and Teenage Libraries, a Homework Centre and extensive free computer facilities.

One of the North West's largest Lifelong Learning Centres, the building will have first class teaching accommodation, dedicated IT training suites and a Skills for Life (Maths and English) Centre. Specialist arts and crafts teaching rooms include a photographic dark room.

Many innovative features mean that the new Library and Lifelong Learning Centre is in keeping with Oldham's environmental policies. The new building has already been awarded the Bream Certificate for Energy Efficiency, and a sedum roof provides many benefits including recycled rainwater, energy conservation, improvements in air quality, noise reduction and a sustainable habitat for plants and wildlife.
