Passion in Billinge !!!!
There was passion in the air at Billinge Library as a 'Pure Passion' evening came to Billinge as part of the 'Time to Read' promotion.
Our readers entered the library through the 'Tunnel of Love' - complete with fairy lights and purple drapes. Staff and members of the public read from some of the featured books, followed by a fun quiz based around the books. Readers were also encouraged to vote on-line on the People's Network computers. Everyone also enjoyed the wine and various treats on offer.
Local businesses had donated various prizes for a Prize Draw - which included a voucher from a beauty salon and a Romantic Meal for two at the local Golf Club.
Everyone went away with a free book and chocolate suitably wrapped in purple paper.
It was a very enjoyable evening, and hopefully other authorities have similar passionate events lined up. As one comment on our evaluation sheets said "I didnŐt know the library ladies were so passionate - it must be all the books they read"!!
