Young Summer Reading Game Volunteers were used at Central and Castle Hill Library. They helped to plan and organise activities in both libraries.
A presentation was held on Saturday Oct 1st in the Central Lecture Theatre for those children that had completed the Challenge and had been winners of a prize draw. The Mayor and Mayoress were there to award the book tokens. It was a great success. Twenty six winners attended with their families.
Fran Sandham
Fran Sandham's talk based around his book Traversa was very interesting, particularly his tales about trying to use a donkey and a mule unsuccessfully to transport his luggage. Although we only had a small group for the event, the feedback was extremely positive.
"A very entertaining speaker, such an interesting and unusual subject. I think the book will be well worth reading."
"Can we please have another one, same subject."
"Excellent talk."
