Oldham Play Action Group were on hand with themed craft activities and face painting and the Lego room proved to be extremely popular, especially with boys and their fathers.
On the Sunday the Clone Wars films were shown in the Performance Space with X-Box and Wii games taking place in the children's library. Visitors to the Library were up by almost 1,000 on an average weekend
Allama Iqbal Day
An afternoon of poetry celebrating the life and works of Allama Iqbal was a great success at Oldham Library during the month of May.
As a poet, philosopher and politician, Iqbal is widely considered to be the ideological founder of Pakistan and one of the greatest writers from the Indian subcontinent.
The Oldham Library event included poetry readings and a book launch from guest writers from across the North West. Over 70 people attended the event.
Healthy Living Day

We had a strong turn out for our healthy eating day in May, which we have turned in to a regular session in the library, with Wii fitness games being top of the health resources available, along with many more. The Healthy Living sessions now happen every month!
Digital stories
In April and May the Oldham Writers Group took part in an exciting Digital Storytelling Project. The writers reminisced about stories from their lives and found photographs to accompany their stories. Six Writers explored their photographs, stories and memories with Radio Producer Melanie Harris, to produce a collection of 2-minute digital stories.
