News from library authorities:
Sefton
As part of the Time To Read promotion 'Reading Places', funding was made available for a travel writer to visit Sefton libraries to talk about his experiences.
Inspired by the great explorers, critically acclaimed author and public speaker Fran Sandham walked solo across Africa, from Namibia's Skeleton Coast to the Indian Ocean near Zanzibar, a 3,000-mile trek taking nearly a year.
Fran talked about Traversa, his engaging account of this remarkable journey, at Netherton Library and at Formby Library. Audiences of 20-30 attended each event, and were entertained by Fran's tales from his walk across Africa. Signed copies of Traversa could be purchased at each event.
We were really excited to have Fran Sandham appearing at 2 Sefton Libraries. He has written a brilliant account of his adventures, and his illustrated talks were very entertaining.'
