I've started looking at this to try and find out what will be happening to celebrate this great writer's bi-centenary. Most activity is inevitably in London and Portsmouth, but we mustn't forget that Dickens loved this region and visited regularly. He is an important writer and we should honour him at this anniversary time.

Librarians in the North West have pioneered partnership working to encourage new readers into libraries. Time To Read is a partnership of librarians engaged in reader development activity in public library authorities in the North West Region. All 23 public library authorities in the region currently support Time To Read.
