From Nov 2002- Nov 2004 the Time To Read co-ordinator was involved in the planning and delivery of 9 readers' days across north west England. In each instance a number of library staff were involved. Inevitably however, there are a great many authorities and staff who have not yet been involved in attending or organising a readers' day. This toolkit is intended to support staff hoping to organise their own days in the future.

Librarians in the North West have pioneered partnership working to encourage new readers into libraries. Time To Read is a partnership of librarians, literature development workers and other organisations engaged in reader development activity in public library authorities in the North West Region. All 22 public library authorities in the region are involved.
Time To Read currently has a full time paid co-ordinator, supported by Arts Coucil of England and Museums, Libraries and Archives, North West.
