Readers For Life 3 Toolkit
1. Introduction
Readers For Life is the strategy document for reader development work with adults in public libraries in NW England. It is drawn together in consultation with people working in public libraries across the region and is approved by the Heads of Library Services. It is intended to provide a framework for promoting reading to adult readers and to reflect the range and depth of work taking place. It is about bringing reading in all formats to as many readers as possible.
This document is the renewed reader development strategy for the NW region, from Sept 2011- Mar 13. This overarching strategy aims to act as a framework for local reader development activity, as well as demonstrating how TTR fits with priority national reading agendas. The actions presented in this strategy are intended to build on achievements of the last 3 years as well as the continuing enthusiasm of the region's reader development practitioners, to ensure that the NW region remains at the forefront of Reader Development activity in the UK.
Readers For Life 3 is intended to help structure local strategies and provide evidence that promoting reading contributes to the major political and cultural agendas driving contemporary library services.
