Working With Writers Toolkit
BACKGROUND The Here and Now project
The project ran from Summer 2005-Spring 2006 across almost all library services in the NW region. Through Here & Now, libraries in the North West increased their stocks of titles that reflect writing in the region, organised activities to promote that stock and brought their writers into contact with readers at a range of events.
In essence the project provided:
- A range of high quality materials to support the promotion of titles in libraries.
The package of materials distributed to each library authority consisted of A3 showcards, A4 showcards A3 posters, A4 posters Shelf Edge Strips, Stickers for books A6 postcards A5 leaflets Drinks coasters, Mouse mats Book browser headers Hanging Banners
- Funding to support events in each library authority
- Website development to maintain information about the region's books and writers
- Networking events for library staff and writers to break down barriers and generate ideas for events
Time To Read currently has a full time paid co-ordinator, supported by Arts Coucil of England and Museums, Libraries and Archives, North West.
