Margaret Murphy

BIOGRAPHY
Margaret Murphy is the author of nine highly acclaimed psychological crime novels. Published in the UK, USA, and in translation across Europe, Margaret’s writing has received accolades from the British broadsheets, as well as rave reviews from the New York Times, Publishers’ Weekly and The Booklist in the USA. She was shortlisted for the 2006 CWA Dagger in the Library.
After a string of stand-alone thrillers, Margaret recently began her first series. Based in Liverpool, and featuring Chief Inspector Jeff Rickman and Detective Sergeant Foster, she evokes the gritty reality of crime in one of Britain’s most vibrant and brutal cities.
Margaret has been a countryside ranger, science teacher and dyslexia specialist. She is founder of Murder Squad, a touring group of crime writers and a committee member of the Crime Writers’ Association. She is Consultant Tutor on the MA in Writing at Liverpool JMU, and delivers a regular writing masterclass on Radio Merseyside Drivetime.
