BIOGRAPHY
I'm a poet living in Liverpool. My first full length collection 'The Anatomy of Structures' is due with Flambard Press in July 2010. I started writing poetry as a teenager and was a Special Award winner in the 1991 WH Smith Young Writer's Competition, judged by Ted Hughes. I'm a recipient of a North West Arts young writer’s bursary in 1997 and have enjoyed success in national poetry competitons. My poems have appeared in many literary magazines and anthologies and have been broadcast on Radio 4.

My pamphlet, 'Keeping Houston Time', was published by Slow Dancer Press in 1997.
My poems have appeared in many literary journals including Stand, Ambit and Mslexia. My poems have also been broadcast on Radio 4.
I have read at venues nationwide and at various literary events including Liverpool Literature Festival 2008, Liverpool Chapter & Verse 2008, Sefton Celebrates Writing 2008 & 2009 and the Manchester Book Fair 2006.

I have an MA in the Teaching & Practice of Creative Writing from Cardiff University.
I taught creative writing at Liverpool John Moores University for six years. I'm now a full time writer and work as a visiting poet. I conduct readings of my own work as well as reading-poetry and writing-poetry workshops in schools, universities, at literature festivals and within the community.
I have worked with The Reader Organisation in Liverpool, taking part several times as a guest writer at their Reader Days - the days involve a packed programme of panel based literary discussions and workshops.
