Talking Authors

Join us for an evening of conversation with three top selling female authors – S.E.Lynes, Naomi Kruger and Martine McDonagh. We will explore what has inspired them as writers, the obstacles they have faced and how they have overcome them in order to be successful in their field.

Audience members can ask the panel questions and hear their inspiring stories. This event is a must for book lovers!

General admission tickets are £4. Tickets for library members are £3 each, please book at your nearest local library for this reduced rate

The Curiosity Bookshop will be selling books on the evening.


Originally from Runcorn, Susie now lives in Middlesex with her husband, three kids and her dog, Lola. A former BBC producer, creative writing tutor for ten years, Susie now writes full time and does occasional mentoring.

Martine McDonagh

Her first novel, I Have Waited and You Have Come, was longlisted for the Authors’ Club First Novel Award. Author Elizabeth Haynes described it as ‘cataclysmically brilliant’ and it was praised in the Guardian and Red magazine. Martine had a successful career in the music industry as an artist manager and devised and ran the MA Creative Writing & Publishing at West Dean College in Sussex.

Naomi Kruger

Naomi Kruger's fiction has been published in various literary journals and her first novel (set in Preston and partly narrated by a character with dementia) was published by Seren in 2018. She has an MA and PhD from Lancaster University and is currently a Lecturer in Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Central Lancashire. She is also the creative co-director of several literary and community projects in Lancashire including the North West Literary Salon and Stories at the Storey (a monthly true story open mic night). She lives in Preston with her husband and daughter.
